Rate That Jump! – Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

Rate that jump

Games like giving players the ability to jump. Rate That Jump! examines how a particular jump handles in all facets.

Oliver, the wizard in-training protagonist, playfully jumps about as well as any other thirteen-year-old could. He worries not about its functionality, for it has none, but rather its whimsy. There’s much – perhaps too much – ground to cover in the journey ahead, so it’s up to you to find ways to make the best of it. With a smirk on both of your faces, you’ll decide to skip across deserts and forests to the beat of the orchestrated music without shame. You’ll jump around enemies. You’ll frolic into enemies. You’ll accidentally hop into enemies. You’ll leap foot after foot until you can’t feel your feet.

Such pleasure mustn’t be taken for granted! The joys of jumping come to those who work for it. Locate a girl’s lost necklace, a man’s lost diary, and a wife’s lost children to receive enough stamps to purchase this skill. Nothing says a job well done better than an ability that serves as much purpose as you can creatively derive from it. Just don’t expect it to come in handy.
